{"id":1364,"date":"2013-12-23T09:00:22","date_gmt":"2013-12-23T16:00:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bigdamnheroes.org\/?p=1364"},"modified":"2013-12-23T09:00:22","modified_gmt":"2013-12-23T16:00:22","slug":"wildstar-wrap-up-volume-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/wildstar.bigdamnheroes.org\/?p=1364","title":{"rendered":"WildStar Wrap-up, Volume 5"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to the final weekly wrap-up of WildStar news for 2013. \u00a0I&#8217;m taking next week off, and spending time with family, and all that fun stuff (playing video games, of course!). \u00a0So, unless there is some earth shattering WildStar news, like a surprise release date drop&#8230; I won&#8217;t be doing a wrap-up next week.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The big news for WildStar this week, was another Stress Test conducted starting Friday evening&#8230; no tweets about melted RAM, melted Devs, or anything like that.. so it sounds like the test is going well. \u00a0The WildStar team did warn people watching streams that since the stress test was ongoing this weekend, they could see a large number of disconnects, lag, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Friday night, stress testers were apparently treated to a little Monster Bash. \u00a0From the description (and pictures) over on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wildstarfans.net\/2013\/12\/wildstar-treats-stress-testers-to.html\" target=\"_blank\">Wildstar Fans<\/a>, it looks like it was a huge draw..lots of people crammed into the same spot.. which is exactly what you want for a stress test. \u00a0Must have been crazy having the Devs spawn those monsters on top of huge crowds of low level folks.<\/p>\n<p>The main news out of Carbine directly this week&#8230; was the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wildstar-online.com\/en\/news\/vine_contest_winners.php\" target=\"_blank\">announcement<\/a> of the winners of the WildStar Vine contest (winners will receive a Beta key&#8230; lucky cupcakes!). \u00a0Here&#8217;s my favorite winner:<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/vine.co\/v\/hQpKQ3PJ5QW\/embed\/simple\" height=\"600\" width=\"600\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><script charset=\"utf-8\" type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"\/\/platform.vine.co\/static\/scripts\/embed.js\" async=\"\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Since the level 1-15 NDA drop, there has been a lot of good information coming out from the various fan sites (and, of course, &#8216;real&#8217; media like MMORPG.com). \u00a0While I&#8217;m sure there&#8217;s been articles, or videos that I haven&#8217;t seen&#8230; here&#8217;s the highlights of what I have seen this week:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Alice over at the Nexus Report, has started a series of zone spotlights. \u00a0This week&#8217;s zone, is <a href=\"http:\/\/nexusreport.net\/2013\/12\/21\/zone-spotlight-algoroc\/\" target=\"_blank\">Algoroc<\/a>. \u00a0Enjoy the tour of this low level Exile zone. \u00a0The scenery looks great, but I would have liked to have also gotten some more information from Alice about the zone in the video, like what&#8217;s up with the giant robot at 4:00 into the video?<\/li>\n<li>WildStar Fans has a nice write up about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wildstarfans.net\/2013\/12\/wildstar-questing-familiar-yet-fun.html\" target=\"_blank\">questing<\/a> in WildStar. \u00a0I like the way they broke down the various sources for quests at early levels.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.warcry.com\/news\/view\/130665-A-Hands-On-Look-at-WildStars-Engineer-Explorer\" target=\"_blank\">WarCry<\/a> provides us with their take on the Engineer Class, combined with the Explorer path.<\/li>\n<li>JB and crew join in the Engineer love as well, with this week&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mognation.com\/podcast\/wildcast-28-engineer\/\" target=\"_blank\">WildCast<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s it for the week.. a bit light, but with no new classes left to be revealed, and with Christmas coming up, that&#8217;s to be expected. \u00a0There&#8217;s a ton of folks streaming WildStar still, thanks to the partial NDA drop for select sites. \u00a0So, if you&#8217;re looking for something to do, head over to twitch and watch some game play!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to the final weekly wrap-up of WildStar news for 2013. \u00a0I&#8217;m taking next week off, and spending time with family, and all that fun stuff (playing video games, of course!). \u00a0So, unless there is some earth shattering WildStar news, like a surprise release date drop&#8230;
